Dawn Martins, LVT — Veterinary Technician
Dawn has worked as a veterinary technician since 2001. A graduate of Laguardia Community College, she has experience in emergency medicine, surgery, and general practice. We are very excited that she chose to join our team at Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital.
Dawn lives with her husband; son; three dogs, Lennox, Henke,and Charlie; and her cats Lily and Gabby. And we can not forget her guinea pig and fresh water fish! Her hobbies include ice hockey, camping, and working with animals.
Jennifer Erhardt, LVT — Veterinary Technician
Jennifer joined the Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital family in 2016. She attended Mercy College and received a bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology. In the past 13 years, she has worked in emergency, research and shelter medicine. Even with emergency medicine being her true passion, she loves the client/pet/technician relationship that general practice offers.
In her free time, Jennifer loves being outdoors with her husband and dog, Cliff.
Michelle Thompson, LVT — Veterinary Technician
Michelle is the newest addition to our staff and started working with us at the beginning of 2017. She has 26 years of experience in veterinary medicine, receiving her degrees from SUNY Delhi AAS and Colorado State University.
Michelle lives with her husband and two children, Ben and Mackenzie. She has three dogs - Hannah, Blu, and Daisy - and one cat - Katie. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, biking, running, boating, and having fun with her family.
Jennifer Esposito — Veterinary Assistant & Client Care Specialist
Jennifer started working at Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital in 2016. She is currently attending BOCES Animal Care.
In her spare time, Jennifer is busy with her husband, 3 daughters, 2 sons, and 2 cats.They like to go on walks and spend time doing fun activities together.
Lauren DeSanti — Lead Client Care Specialist
Lauren joined us at Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital in 2015. She previously studied Criminal Justice at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. In January 2017, she was promoted to Lead Client Care Specialist as she is always organized and ready to help out our clients.
When we're not keeping her busy at the front desk, Lauren is busy going on adventures with her son, Landon and five dogs — Bentley, Griffin, Bianca, Charlie, and Paisley.
Megan DelGaudio — Client Care Specialist
Megan has been with Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital since 2008. You will see her always happy, smiling, and ready to help our clients at the front desk.
When not at work, Megan is busy with her new baby boy, Matthew, older sons Thomas Jr. and Brandon, and her husband, Tom. As a family, they love going to the beach and going camping.
Elizabeth Ruscito — Client Care Specialist
Lizz started working at Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital in 2015. She is currently attending SUNY Broome Community College where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems.
When Lizz is not at work or busy aspiring to be a website developer, she is enjoying family time and her cats-Lucky, Callie, and Doodle.
Susan Brandes — Client Care Specialist
Sue started working at Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital as a personal assistant in 2015, but was quickly promoted to our Client Care Team. You can always find her at the front desk laughing with clients and staff.
When Sue is not having fun at work, she gives back to her community by volunteering. She has volunteered with the New York State PTA for 18 years and with the Holtsville Civic Association for 5 years. In 2016, she became the Suffolk Region PTA Treasurer. Sue lives with her husband, son, and her dog Mugsy.
Harriet Ryan — Social Media Manager
Harriet has been with Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital since 2014 when she moved from Texas. She manages our social media websites, creates marketing material, and assists with special events. Harriet received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with double minors in Music and Criminal Justice. She has recently graduated from Long Island University with a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
When Harriet’s not working, she loves cooking for her family and walking her dog, Tazer, at the beach.
Karissa Maryon — Senior Veterinary Assistant
Karissa has been with Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital since 2009. She plays many important roles at our hospital including Senior Veterinary Assistant, Surgical Assistant, Groomer and even helps at the front desk. Karissa is enrolled in Penn Foster's Veterinary Technician online program and has recently graduated from pet grooming school.
When not working, Karissa enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her dog Athena. She also likes bike riding and other outdoor activities.
Lisa Hurley — Senior Veterinary Assistant & Groomer
Lisa has been with Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital since 2011. She is always busy when at work whether she is working as a Senior Veterinary Assistant, Surgical Assistant, or Groomer. Lisa recently graduated from pet grooming school.
When we are not keeping Lisa busy, she enjoys spending time with son, her dog Rastah, and her cat Bella. Some of her hobbies include bike riding, hiking, and going to the beach.
Amanda James — Veterinary Assistant
Amanda started working with Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital in 2012. She graduated from Stony Brook University with a BS degree in Biology and is now studying in Grenada at St. George’s University Veterinary College pursuing a doctorate in veterinary Medicine and a master's degree in Animal Conservation.
When she visits NY, Amanda divides her time between Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital and an exotic practice. She enjoys spending time with her family and her pets- ferrets Harper and Levi, rats June Bug and Annabelle, corn snake Calypso, and dog Penny.
Alicia Kreamer — Veterinary Assistant
Alicia has worked at Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant since 2012. She is majoring in Zoology at the State University of New York at Oswego. She plans to graduate in 2017 and continue her advanced education in animal behavior.
An award-winning tennis player at Patchogue-Medford High School, Alicia continues to play on the SUNY Oswego tennis team.
Kristen Pisani — Veterinary Assistant
Kristen is attending the University of Georgia majoring in Biological Sciences. After graduation, she plans to go to veterinary school.
In her free time, Kristen volunteers at North Shore Horse Rescue and the Evelyn Alexander Wild Life Rescue. Kristen shares her home with her dogs, Ralph and Trixie, and her cats, Kramer and Newman. Her hobbies include horseback riding, fishing and playing lacrosse.
Jack Gamble — Veterinary Assistant
Jack has been a part of the Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital team since 2014. He is currently studying pre-veterinary medicine at Stony Brook University. Jack plans to attend Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. He loves working with small animals and sea turtles.
In his spare time, Jack enjoys music and learning about marine animals.
Samantha Holmes — Veterinary Assistant
Samantha started working at Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital in 2014. She currently attends Stony Brook University pursuing a degree in pre-veterinary medicine; however, she originally intended to major in Forensic Pathology. After working at Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital, Samantha decided that working with animals would be a much more rewarding career.
When Samantha is not studying or working, she enjoys snowboarding, volleyball, traveling, and playing with her cat, Toby.
Karla Lituma — Veterinary Assistant
Karla joined us at Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital in 2015. She is currently attending Suffolk Community College to pursue a career as a veterinary technician.
In her spare time, Karla enjoys hiking and learning about animals. Every summer, she visits her family in Ecuador. She resides with her family and her cats, Michael, Mongo, Pepé, Tony, and her dog Cookie.
Lauren Gauthier — Veterinary Assistant
Lauren is a veterinary assistant at Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital. She enjoys working with animals and we're happy to have her as part of our team!
Anna Walthers — Senior Kennel Attendant & Bather
Anna has been working at Floyd Harbor Animal Hospital since 1995. She is always working diligently to ensure that our hospital is clean and loves spending time with our patients during their bath time.
When Anna’s not busy with us, she loves reading books, riding her bike, and spending time with her five children and eight grandchildren.
